Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy for End Users of LINK ENERGY, SNAP and the website WattzOn.com

EFFECTIVE DATE: January 25, 2019

WattzOn (“we”, “us” or “our”) values your privacy.  In this Privacy Policy (“Policy”), we describe how we collect, use, and disclose information that we obtain about visitors to our website at www.wattzon.com (the “Site”) and the Link Energy and SNAP services available through our Site (collectively, the “Services”), and how we use and disclose that information.

By visiting the Site, or using any of our Services, you agree that your personal information will be handled as described in this Policy. Your use of our Site or Services, and any dispute over privacy, is subject to this Policy and the Terms of Use, including its applicable limitations on damages and the resolution of disputes.

The Information We Collect About You

We collect information about you directly from you and from third parties, as well as automatically through your use of our Site or Services.

Information We Collect Directly From You. You may browse certain areas of the Site without registering with us or providing us personal information.  If you register for our LINK ENERGY Service, then you must provide your email address and zip code, and utility account credentials (username and password) to access your online utility account.  We use this information to identify your utility and to gain access to your utility bills in order to provide you the Services.  Once we have access to your utility account, we extract the following information from your utility bills: name on the account; street address; account number; meter number; payment history; current charges; and usage (collectively, “Your Utility Data”).  We use your Utility Data to provide our Services, and this information is used to provide energy-related offerings from our third-party partners. The first time you provide your utility account credentials, the LINK ENERGY Service acquires all utility bills posted on your online utility account. This is typically six to 24 months of utility bills. Thereafter, LINK ENERGY Service reconnects with the utility approximately once per month to acquire the most recent utility bill. If there is interval data available (typically per hour usage), the LINK ENERGY Service may acquire that as well.

If you register for our SNAP Services, then you must provide your email, zip code and upload a recent utility bill in pdf or document scan format. We use this information to identify your utility and to gain access to your utility bills in order to provide you the SNAP Services. Once we have access to your utility bills, we extract the Your Utility Data (e.g. name on the account; street address; account number; meter number; payment history; current charges; and usage) from such bills .  We use this Utility Data to provide the Services, and this information is used to provide energy-related offerings from our third-party partners.

In addition, if you are providing personal information for or about third parties in connection with using our Services, you are responsible for ensuring that you have all required permissions and consents to provide such personal information to us for use in connection with the Services and that our use of such personal information to provide the Services does not violate any applicable law, rule, regulation or order.

Information We Collect Automatically. We may automatically collect the following information about your use of our Site or Services through cookies and other technologies: your domain name; your browser type and operating system; web pages you view; links you click; your IP address; the length of time you visit our Site and or use our Services; and the referring URL, or the webpage that led you to our Site.  We may combine this information with other information that we have collected about you, including, where applicable, your user name, name, and other personal information. Please see the section “Cookies and Other Tracking Mechanisms” below for more information.
